Hirelings and Henchmen
In regards to Hirelings that the party may hire. The hiring player will make a saving throw after any encounter that the hireling drops to 0 hit points or less. On a failed saving throw that henchmen is killed. On a success they were knocked unconscious. You can also use a heal effect or stabilize them within 3 turns of them dropping to guarantee they survived the encounter. This can be performed once per encounter to reflect their single healing surge being used.
You are able to control them in combat as you see fit. This remains in effect unless you somehow offend or mistreat them to a point they no longer trust your employment. Then they are handled as NPC’s in combat.
