Ambush at the Citadel

Good byes are had with Garlic, Peter and Garret at Scaalaee and the Keepers learn about the origins of the Dark Skies. They make their way back to the Isle of Song with resolve to investigate the workings of the Citadels nearby.

The Keepers convince Shawn to once again captain their ship, and to steer it straight into the danger of the Citadels.

The party is taken unawares by three creatures whilst investigating the Citadels.

The Secret Revealed
Having secured the the Isle of Song, performed the required rites, and opened the way to the Temple of Lir, Drugal is awoken and the secret is revealed

Mika, Glysh, and Shon rejoin the Keepers, having spent their time among the Burning Robes. With the Keepers, Initiates, and Veiled Alliance reunited, Lir’s song is sung, piercing the veil of the Gloom. Menser is given a hero’s farewell and a blessing by Sa-Nah-Gig herself.

The events of the past two weeks are discussed among the gathered allies, and a way forward is chosen.

With the way to Lir’s temple clear, the gathered host proceeds to Drugal’s throne, and the secret is unlocked.

Visions of What Was and What Will Be
After Charvaan's escape, the Isle of Song is infiltrated and it's demonic ruler confronted

The pursuit of Charvaan comes to a crashing halt a half-day to the east of the isle, and the Keepers accept the inevitability of the beast’s escape while repairs are made. A return to the isle is made, the Silt Queen is hidden, and the mountainous island is infiltrated by way of a risky ascent of its barren north face. Along the way, the madness of the demon’s midnight song begins to afflict the Keepers. Once among the ruins, the demon is confronted, its artifact destroyed at great cost, and victory is had among the final song of the great flourishing of ancient songbirds.

Those that aren't consumed by the perils of the Feral Sea eventually become its conquerors, such was the destiny of Charvaan

The Keepers are reunited in the fog, and a continue onward towards the isle. Along the way, a reluctant, but sympathetic companion is found. She knows of the Beast of the Sea, and warns that the party stands at the edge of its domain. Forging onward through the steam fog brings the party face to face with the mutated being that calls itself conqueror of all that surrounds the isle, and hunter of that which dwells atop the mountain.

A foray into the steam fog leads to an encounter with the dead stone.

With Aduron spared from death and the Silt Stalkers slain, Shon buries the remains of his sons and confronts the Keepers regarding the exact nature of this voyage into deadly lands. Upon learning what lies ahead, he resigns himself to his likely fate. The following morning brings the travelers to The Rim and a rolling steam fog that obscures a relic of unimaginable darkness and destruction.

Silt Stalkers
With the blockade behind them, The Keepers seek repairs and knowledge of what dwells within the Feral Sea

Having bested the picket boats blockading So’Pon, the Keepers create a distraction for the approaching galleys and depart for the Feral Sea. At Shad’s recommendation, a brief stop is made at an isolated village of silt hunters to make repairs and acquire provisions. Tall tales are traded with the harbormaster, including stories of giant beasts and aberrant tribes that roam the silts. In the subsequent days of voyage, The Keepers learn first hand how true some of the stories are.

Blockade Runners
With the aid of a smuggler, The Keepers breach Talis Krieg's blockade and begin the voyage to the Feral Sea

With the aid of the scoundrel that aided them against the thugs and assassin on Buma-Tu’s streets, the company taps into the criminal underworld to secure supplies and rights to a ship for the journey to the Isle of Song. Once back at the Veiled Alliance enclave, hackles are raised as the folly of their open combat on the streets is laid bare. Menser makes it known that another Keeper has fallen, while The Father has chosen one to accompany them in Farr’s stead. Wary of further confrontations under Talis Krieg’s nose, the party flees southward, liberates their vessel, and runs the military blockade at the gateway to the Feral Sea.

The Trouble With Unfinished Business
With the dead and incapacitated delivered into the care of the Veiled Alliance, the remaining Keepers take two new allies to deal with loose ends in the sewers and streets of Buma-Tu

O’sum joins The Keepers in earnest, along with Aduron, a strange being from unknown lands. They assist Pau and Daren with the burning of the blood vine tree, which is close to bearing its pestilent fruit. From there, an investigation of The Thorns hideout leads to traitors, treachery, and unwanted attention on the streets of Buma-Tu’s butcher district, as well as a little help from an acquaintance of days gone by.

A failed sneak attack in the heart of The Thorns lair results in death and a narrow escape

Beneath the slums of Buma-Tu, The Keepers find a way to infiltrate The Thorns garden, where the Rasha are held captive in an immature blood tree. Their botched attempt at a sneak attack results in a brutal fight against Jivven and his mob of mutant, plague infected apes. The mutant beasts are slain and the Rasha are freed, but lives are lost and Jivven manages to escape.

The Tapestry of Fates
The Keepers of Lir begin to see how their destinies have become intertwined with the struggles for true immortality

The Keepers of Lir and Menser journey to the ancient temple of Lir in the Savage Mountains, in hopes of relieving themselves of Sa-Nah-Gig’s burden. Instead they find desecration and an old enemy who has become the bearer of bad news for the angry demigoddess. By dawn, two of the party have perished and returned from The Gloom bearing her mark, and a temporary reprieve from the curse is secured.

Menser learns much from The Keepers, and instructs them in what he knows before bringing them before The Father. As night arrives, each member of the company has revealed much of themselves and learned even more concerning the ancient strands of fate that they have become entwined with. A myriad of difficult choices lay before them.
